As you step into the street and notice the distance between the hearts and homes [W6, Friday]

[Will might be surprised to find that one of the rounds Winston comes back, he's holding a new note. Upon unfolding it, Will will notice that it's one of Percy's wanted posters that he's torn down from the station and a note is scrawled on it almost sloppily. It happens when your hand's bandaged up.]

Will,

...I imagine you don't want company. I imagine you don't want condolances condolences and I imagine you're already planning on how to strike back.

But...I'm sorry. I'm sorry for everything. I did my best. I wanted to do more, I wanted to try and stop this, I wanted so much but this town has proven to me you can't get what you want all the time.

I don't know what's going to happen tomorrow. I'm scared, honestly, but I know I can't be. That won't be good for anyone. I read Dr. Lecter's letter. I have some ideas. I don't know if I'm ready, but again, I know I can't be scared.

Please be well, Will. It's a tall order, I know. Know that despite what happens tomorrow, I'm grateful for all you've done for me in the weeks we've been here. I know you know exactly how everything will play out. I'll have to make do with my own clues and find a new way to win. Dr. Lecter had spoken to me about maybe working with us. I think he already knew it was too late. I appreciate him humoring me, at least.

Like I said, I imagine you don't want company and maybe that's for the best. I had enough people tell me to take time to grieve and I don't know if I ever really did. But you and Winston can probably guess where to find me. Otherwise, I'll see you tomorrow, I hope.

Now we’ve got a big, big mess on our hands tonight [W6, Thursday, Pre-Curfew]

[Another day, another meeting. This one's more tense than usual especially with the lack of a small bat-child. Percy's right hand is sloppily bandaged up and his jaw is tight as his eyes burn with anger.]

Dr. Lecter knows we know. He's known since Saturday. Hal confirmed with me he's the Deputy, just like Hal confirmed to Dr. Lecter that we were onto him.

[A shaky sigh.] What the fuck do we do now?

So I guess that's a step in the right direction, clever composition in the honesty [W6, Wednesday]

[It was time. It was time, Percy decided, to face the monster head-on, just as he always has.

Is it fair to think of Dr. Lecter as a monster? Perhaps not. But Percy's negotiated with people before, people who have wanted others dead. Everything Will's told him sat with him for days and seeped into his nightmares, visions of blood and gore and mutilated bodies, a fucked-up version of love that left him sick and gasping any time he woke up.

So Percy slept. Monday evening onward until Wednesday. It's only after breakfast, after a confirmation that others know and suspect, that he realizes he's wasting time.

…at least he takes the time to shower, to get changed out of his pajamas and into other clothes, prepare himself. The water doesn't re-energize him the way it usually does but it helps clear his head. He has to be calm and diplomatic when he speaks. Dr. Lecter, surely, knows he's coming for him.

It's why Wednesday afternoon finds him approaching the man's room, Mrs. O'Leary left in his own room and no one else aware he's even awake now. He stands out in the hall, breathing in deeply through his nose before firmly knocking on the door.

There's no turning back. Not now.]

Don't think you're more than this, or above all this [W6, Monday Afternoon]

[He manages to catch her after the fiasco that is the corpse pile and he jogs up to her with Mrs. O'Leary in his wake, easily falling into step with her and dropping his voice to a lower tone.]

Hey, can I talk to you for a minute? I think most of the town's busy dealing with our corpse pile.

My mind is set on overdrive, the clock is laughing in my face [W5, Sunday/Monday]

[Percy's never been afraid of the dark, but in the last few months both in Tartarus and in this town, the dark has meant too many dangerous things that've put him on edge. It's startling late when he enters the hotel and he's quiet about it, closing the door while making zero sound and keeping his steps light.

Of course, he doesn't account for anyone else being awake. The sounds from the kitchen alarm him but he narrows his eyes, a hand on Annabeth's dagger at his hip as he steps closer to see what's going on. After everything, he refuses to be caught off-guard.

...and then he notices who it is and he sighs without thinking about it. Of course. Why isn't this a surprise?]

Man, what're you doing? [Will, why are you this way? And what are you doing?]

Let's end this spiral down, pick ourselves off the ground [W5, Sunday]

[It's early evening when the Bounty group gathers again. There's more to discuss now that they've had time to cope and pick themselves up again, ready to get back to work. Time is still marching on and it's nothing that they can waste.

Together again, they settle. The room is quiet for a time as they all gather their thoughts. With everything that came up this weekend? They need a new plan of action.]

We don't notice any time pass, we don't notice anything [W5, Sunday, Post-Execution]

[It's a few hours after the execution that Percy finds himself wandering back to the hotel. His thoughts are fuzzy and his head's clouded but his feet keep moving. It's what he has to do. The blood from Harry's head has dried on his hands and his clothes from when he tried to wipe off his hands, but that's irrelevant to him. Instead, he enters the hotel and stands in the hall to think of where to go next.

The kitchen? No, found body parts there. The bath house? No, found body parts there, too. His room? It's not somewhere he wants to go now. More than anything, he's realized he doesn't necessarily want to be alone in that space right now...so he turns for the lounge. That seems safe.

It's there he finds Noctis on one of the couches with Sara's sword and his expression twitches into something a little like happiness. It's not, but it's a sign he's better off with Noctis than others. Without a word he slowly enters the room and settles on the couch next to him, curling up a little before resting his forehead on Noctis's shoulder. Hi, friend.]

One boy, one girl, two hearts, their world time goes by, secrets rise [W5, Sat, Post-Trial]

[It's a few hours later, late at night and quiet. The town's settled down after the trial again and Percy seems to be taking Mrs. O'Leary out for one more late-night walk. It shouldn't surprise him, but it does. It surprises him to see a lone figure walking away from the Sheriff's station and it's only because of who it is that he calls out.]

Xion.

I always put myself in destructive situations [W5, Friday]

[It took time. Everything took time as it always did. It took time for them to all calm down, it took time to heal physical wounds, it took time to properly remove the evidence of obscene crimes...but in the evening they were able to gather in one place away from everyone else. It hadn't been easy coordinating everything, but it was necessary.

And so here they were. All seven of them.]

...I don't really know where to start. [His voice is tight, but determined.] But we need everybody on the same page. Who wants to go first?

Some people have it other people dont, though the road that we've paved still goes both ways [W5 Th]

[It's starting to wind down around the hotel, and Percy's making himself a sandwich before going on bat-watch. He's in the kitchen and finishing up easily enough before he makes his way out of the kitchen, nearly running into Shinnosuke in the process.

He thinks about what Damian told them and he tilts his head, keeping his tone light and friendly as he sidesteps him.]

Sorry, dude. I didn't know you were there.

In a matter of days I'll never be the same, tomorrow can I change? [W4, Sunday, Post-Execution]

[It was bittersweet, he thinks. Catching a murderer was one thing, but catching the wrong murderer simply because he confessed seemed anticlimatic and sad, but what else could be done?

After the execution and after some time, he finally finds himself heading back to the hotel. If he's at all surprised to see Sara outside, he says nothing, but he does call out a little distance away to alert her to his presence.]

How's your hand?

If we know the way we're gonna die, through everything else we will survive [W4, Sat, Post-Trial]

[Perhaps it's for the best that Percy left the trial shortly after casting his vote for the execution. If he hadn't, it may have been too entirely possible for someone to notice he felt a little satisfied.

Granted, he's also pretty annoyed, but what else is new? With everything that's happened, he feels that there are two men he needs to visit tonight. His mother's always taught him that it's polite to bring gifts to people whose homes you're invading, and though he's not always good at it, he does find himself stopping at the saloon on his way.

It's not like anyone will stop him. Who would?

And so he returns to the hotel with a new bottle of whiskey in his hand, stopping at the door to the room Hannibal and Will are staying in. He knows he's probably intruding, but whatever. They can tell him to fuck off if they wish, but he has things to discuss and things to ask. So, he knocks and he waits. He doesn't suspect this visit to be long, but one can never tell with these things.]

Just try and sit back, get my palette wet, getting mentally prepared for the consequences [W4, Fri]

[It's some time after the investigation that Percy finds himself making rounds and checking on those he hasn't yet. He knows Yuna's in good hands, as is Xion, and that takes some weight off of him. He finds that he's restless though, frustrated that somehow something like this happened again under their noses.

It's why he finds Barnham in the hall holding a towel, and he tilts his head carefully. There's a box in his arms and Mrs. O'Leary's at his feet, barking cheerfully at the man who helped save her.

Percy, on the other hand, seems a little bummed to see Barnham's demeanor.]

Mr. Barnham? [Just a tentative address, just to see how Barnham's really holding up.]

For all of us who've seen the light, salute the dead and lead the fight [W4, Fri Post-Investigation]

[As promised to Papika, Percy figured things out. As also promised to Papika, he finds himself heading to the room she and Damian share, Mrs. O'Leary trotting along at his feet and a box in his arms. It's enough time for her to at least get the corpse water off and for Damian to recover, if there's really such a thing as that much time.

He has no idea what to do. He has things to tell them, but his priority is to make sure their minds don't break after everything. So, once he's at the door he pauses and shifts the box under his arm, knocking softly with his knuckles.]

Guys, it's me.

We’re too young to be critics, we won’t miss anything at all [W4, Thursday night]

[You know. Before their grave-digging adventures.

So anyway, Thursday sure was something. This whole week sure was something, and Percy's head is spinning and after returning Xion to where Xion needed to be, he'd sat outside of the hotel holding onto Annabeth's letter. The whole thing made his chest hurt, heart sick and broken all over again. And yet, strangely, it motivated him.

It gave him something to think about and it reminded him that he had things to bring up. There were two people in this stupid town that he truly trusted and it wasn't hard to flag either of them down. He suggested that they meet in Natalie's room later that evening (seeing how she currently didn't have a roommate) and went back to his room for some time.

By the time their meeting time arrives, Percy comes back to Natalie's room with a box under his arm and a piece of paper in-hand. He enters the room after knocking, looking up at his two companions. It didn't surprise him that Jason beat him there, seeing how he was taking time to gather things.]

So...before we say anything, can we just agree that pretty much everything is going to stay between us for right now?

That's what you get when you let your heart win [W4, Wednesday night]

[This is pretty much what he expected, honestly. Milla told him the day before that the girls were going to do this, and he had expressed his unhappiness with it, but at the same time he knew it had to happen. That doesn't mean he has to like it, nor does it mean he has to like the fact that Xion and Milla are both now paying the price.

Knowing it was Xion's idea angers him. It angers and frustrates him but he does his best to level out his temper before searching the hotel for a familiar pup. With two dogs in tow, he makes his way out to the clinic.

It's a rare moment when she doesn't have visitors and after Hannibal's treated her. It's good enough for him though, but before he can bother to knock or anything Pluto pushes his face forward toward Xion, Mrs. O'Leary right behind him.

So yeah, apparently it's a dog party first. Who knew?]

You got a reaction, didn't you? You took a white orchid, turned it blue [W4, Tuesday Afternoon]

[He's on the porch in the later part of the afternoon, staring at the sky as well as he can with Mrs. O'Leary's head on his stomach. It's strange, really, how empty his thoughts seem now that his ideas girl is gone. Annabeth always brought out the best parts in him, the thoughtful, creative pieces.

Then again, he knows it's because he knew he had to be quick to keep them alive.

Now...his hand idly scratches his dog's ears and his eyes are half-closed when he hears footsteps behind him. He rolls his head back enough and spots small feet before looking up into the girl's face. There's a half-smile.]

Where are you heading off to?

[Easygoing. Conversational. Less panicked than waking up with a horse in their room, at least, and it's only for Xion that he shifts to fully sit up.]

This is the post I use when I don't trust Squee :| [W4, Late Tuesday Night]

[Late Tuesday night? Late Tuesday night. Percy can probably be found skulking around in the graveyard again because he's a sad sack. But he's definitely alone, comfortable enough to leave Mrs. O'Leary behind with Harry for a short time.]

With everything falling down around me Id like to believe in all the possibilities [W4 Tues Evening]

[Somehow...this doesn't surprise him. Somehow, finding two connecting pieces on sheer accident doesn't surprise him. It's the demigod way, stumbling into things and figuring it out along the way, and it's for that reason he's a little nervous. He had told both parties separately to meet him back out at the homestead near the water, knowing that one party liked to check the animals there and the other would walk that far if he asked.

His head's spinning with information but he's hoping maybe everything will be solved. He knows it means a lot for them to trust him when he isn't a Bounty himself, but he's doing this to protect them both. He'll do whatever it takes to keep everyone who counts safe.

And so, Mrs. O'Leary and Percy sit on the dock, Percy's feet in the water again as he lays on his back and stares behind him. It's hard to say which of them will appear first, but he's ready and waiting.]
