I wanna be the ocean to your shore, bring you comfort evermore [W3, Monday evening]
[Too much has happened. Too much has happened and he feels like his head might explode, and when that happens he knows he just needs to be alone with Annabeth for a while. Being here has been almost exhausting but that's normal. What isn't normal is not having enough time together. So. He does as he always does and takes matters into his own hands.
This is why on Monday evening, Annabeth will be approached by Mrs. O'Leary whenever she may be. The hellhound will have a piece of paper in her mouth that simply says "we should say hello to the stars." Mrs. O'Leary will bark and wait for Annabeth to follow her. By the time they step outside she'll lead Annabeth to the general store and look up, barking again.
Hanging over the edge of the roof is a sneaker-clad foot. Come on up, Wise Girl.]

i hate you!!!!
Hey, Romeo. I'm surprised you haven't hit the level of throwing pebbles at my window with these dates.
[ not that she's protesting this on any level, but. she sure as hell will tease him? that said as soon as she sits down beside him she will lean in to kiss him. hi percy it's been like, a few hours probably? ]
:*
Don't tempt me. [He's fine with the teasing because...it's Annabeth. It's immediately obvious how she affects him with the way his entire expression lights up and he tilts his head while waiting for her to come closer. Naturally, he'll never say no to a kiss though. When she's close enough he moves to meet her half-way, having the same idea and being perfectly clear about his intentions here.
They have a lot to talk about, but this is also...] Like I said, this isn't Paris but I did my best. The nice thing about the desert is that the sky's pretty clear.
kicks u in the shin
[ annabeth doesn't pull all the way away, but drops her head onto percy's shoulder as she looks out off of the roof. she'll maybe eat something in a bit, or drink something, but right now she's a little bit tired and he is, sometimes, the only person she can allow to see she's ever tired or upset or a little bit weak. ]
If you go the pebble route, try not to break anything.
what a rude way to say thank you :|
I can't promise that though. If the Sheriff didn't want broke windows he would have put in better glass. Then again, I don't want Nisha to lean out the window and shoot me or something either. [Part of him wants to ask if she's okay, but he knows better than to verbally ask. He's content to be next to her for the time being to support her. That's all that matters to him.]

sometimes it helps to remember the dumb things he's said about new rome. she'd had to ask him about it in tartarus, to keep him focused on living, but she hasn't had to ask him about his plans for them here, yet. ]
I wouldn't want that, either. I've put way too much time and effort into keeping you in one piece to let someone shoot you? We wouldn't want me to have to start from scratch.
no subject
[But he doesn't want it to come to that. He doesn't want her to risk anything for him when his focus is to keep her alive, too. They have to make it out of this together, but if they can't...it'll be her. He'll make sure of it.]
But it's all the more reason we need to keep playing the game. I've been asking Hal some questions when I can and figuring out what we really need to do here. [He doesn't...want to immediately talk about the situation though. It's why he pauses to turn and sort of rest his face in her hair.] Have you been sleeping at all?
[Just. Out of curiosity.]
no subject
[ she'll kill if she has to: to defend her life, to defend percy. but annabeth doesn't actually intend to do so. not right now. ]
I've been sleeping when I can. [ not well and not often, with percy out of reach and murder hanging over their heads, but. ] I'm sorry to say it was almost a little bit better in Tartarus. You?
no subject
[There's a light frown.] You can always come crash with me and Harry whenever you want. I know it's better for us to keep an eye on people that're questionable--[Like Nisha.]--but…. [He doesn't like it. That is to say he's not thrilled about it, but he's letting it go.] After the last couple of days? About as well as could be expected. At least in Tartarus we knew what we were facing. This is almost too unpredictable even by our standards.
[There's another lull.] …still bothers me I can't use any of my powers either. And that Riptide's gone. It's weird. [And leaves him vulnerable, but he won't say that he's mildly concerned about that.]
no subject
It's absolutely ridiculous is what it is. But - well, hey. What's the first thing you want to do when we get out of this? [ when, not if. they can't work with if. when is how they have to think of things. ] I'll let you pick, so give it some actual thought.
no subject
[But he gives that some thought.] You mean out of this? Or out of everything? [Even with Annabeth at his side, he's continually thinking about their mission.]
no subject
This is just a pitstop in the larger form of this, so. Out of everything. Oh, but discounting going to meet up with your mom again, because that's obviously item one on the list. So I suppose what's the second thing you want to do?
no subject
and what I originally had typed in his last tag.]Mom and Paul notwithstanding? A real vacation. Maybe to the beach? It'd be nice to enjoy the sun without thinking about how we might die every ten minutes.
no subject
We could maybe go half an hour without any sort of crisis. A beach vacation sounds nice? I could read or actually agree to go swimming. We could pack a picnic?
[ obviously she is going on the vacation with him duh ]
no subject
Besides...you're probably going back to California with your dad for senior year aren't you?
no subject
[ college. maybe. if percy's whole dream about new rome works out. but she just shrugs. ]
So what does a beach vacation with the Jacksons entail? Blue food is a given, but I don't think I know the details beyond that.

[ you know. WHILE YOU WERE IN NEW ROME, AND/OR IN A COMA, AND/OR WHATEVER ]
I think I actually do miss bonfires. It's kind of weird how much of our lives have involved camp things, except not, but. Also, we should probably eat something before we forget about it entirely.
[ she will, you know, grab a slice of pizza having said that? ]
no subject
I miss a lot of things about camp. And home. It's been...a really, really long time. [Almost eight months for him. It's not hard to guess that he's still homesick.] But at least Hal delivered on the pizza. That's something.
no subject
And yeah, the pizza is something. And so is the fact we can see the sky. And we're together. ...With Mrs. O'Leary for some reason. But. We're going to figure this out and get back to the actual mission.
no subject
[And yet.] ...I can see why Bob wanted to see the stars and the sky again. Being there...you know. Sometimes it felt like we'd never see the sun again. [He takes a sip of his drink, peering over the roof to see Mrs. O'Leary.] I don't think I'd survive this without you. So...stay alive.
[It's then he takes a bite of his pizza and proceeds to talk around it.] Found out some stuff the last couple of days you'd might be interested in though.
no subject
who even plans for that in a murder game.
she knocks her elbow into his. ]
Also, you better stay alive, too, Seaweed Brain. So - tell me what you heard.
no subject
[Nonono, focus, Jackson.] I'll be fine. First thing's first. Have you talked to Hal one on one at all?
no subject
Someone has to keep an eye on you. Also, I've only really talked to him during trials. But he did let on more than I expected last trial - I think treating him like a person actually has an effect.
no subject
I started doing the same thing after the first trial. [AKA after Annabeth told him to play nice...] What kind of stuff did you get out of him?
