That's what I think. You said they had webbed hands, right? The mermaids we ran into had those, too.

You think they might be the same guys? Or two very closely related species that're working together?

[inheritance]

[Izuku opens his mouth. Pauses. Closes it.]

I want to say they're the same, but knowing this place, they're probably just similar, but different species.

[hydrokinetics]

Which would mean that we have a couple of different species down there we need to account for. It's even more reasons I think we have to go back.

[inheritance]

[After a moment, he nods decisively.]

And if the mermaids [are they mermaids though] won't talk to us, maybe we'll find someone who will.

They can't ignore us forever. If they don't talk, we can always resort to bribery, too. That's worked before with some of the monsters I've met. I'm not sure what the mermaids here would like, but it wouldn't hurt to try it.
