They can't ignore us forever. If they don't talk, we can always resort to bribery, too. That's worked before with some of the monsters I've met. I'm not sure what the mermaids here would like, but it wouldn't hurt to try it.

That's what I think. You said they had webbed hands, right? The mermaids we ran into had those, too.
