The future's in doubt, you're on your own [Week 6, Friday]

[Silence fills the room. They've lost one of their own and their biggest chance to end the game. It's no surprise no one's in a good mood, but they all know they have to be here.

So...who will speak first?]

...Maybe he knows we've got trouble up ahead figuring out where to go without him. Though... guess that would mean he'd have to know he wasn't killed by the leader to end the game the normal way.

. . . it's obvious he knew he was going to die this week. I don't know how, though. And something else about this letter bothers me, especially if he really did think I was the Bounty Leader.

[brings a finger up to point out the line-- "Unless you're the one to have killed me, I suppose, but if so, then you will not be alive much longer."]

Do you think he's talking about Will?

Might both be because of Will. That guy... he probably knew we were up to something, just like he could pick out who killed Chane.

We need to protect Natalie first and foremost. She's our doctor. With the Deputy dead, we may need to decide on someone else to bring back from the train.

I know. I'm not saying we should do anything to put her at risk. Just saying... letting will go after that person if it's possible, we should be careful.

[but he's got a feeling in his gut that things aren't going to be that easy at all.]

[yeah. . . yeah. after last week's trial, they know how Will is]

We'll have to tread carefully. I imagine there are three killers this week-- two Bandits, and one independent kill.

[she pauses and lifts a hand to her chin]

Since one of the victim's was our Deputy, I've been wondering about the continued secrecy of our roles.

Telling everyone because the threat to us is gone. Telling them... who was responsible for the stocks and all that, too.

[he nods. he's not sure if it's a good idea, but they have less to lose, probably. maybe.]

Not everything. Damian's identity should remain a secret.

[PROTECT BOUNTY LEADER AT ALL COSTS]

And only one of us Bounties would need to come forward. I don't know how much of a benefit it would be, particularly if coming forward implicates us in the death of the Deputy. However. . .

Perhaps if we revealed the truth to the remaining players, we can finally pool our information and come to a solution.

It could still be risky, with someone like Ash still around.

[but all the same.]

It may be our best bet, though. We haven't gotten very far with things like they are right now.

Ash, I know, was on the search for the identities of the Deputy and the Bounty Leader. He wished to inform one party of the other's existence in order to encourage an end to this game.

[ha ha. needless to say Milla didn't give him an inch of information]

With the Deputy dead, I'm not certain what else he would do with our roles revealed to him.

Probably try to kill me because I lied to him about it. More than once.

Then you should continue to keep your role a secret.

[speaking of Ash. . .]

I was able to confirm that he got his information on the roles from the Sheriff's computer. He said that was all he found when he broke into the Sheriff's house, but. . . I'm not sure I believe him.

That was what I got from him too. When I mentioned I talked to the Madame, he asked who that person was, too.

I'm pretty sure he was honest. He was mad he told me that when I wasn't spilling anything about the roles either.

[in any case, it's probably better for noct to not say anything about his role for now, because ash is probably their loosest cannon, sans will.]

Unless there's something we're missing, and there is someone else out there who would target us for said roles.

Remember the rulebook? There's no saying something like that won't happen.
You could be putting yourselves at risk without knowing it.

[And... he's very, very tired of waking up to discover people he cares about have died. Please.]

...Jason's right. Best if everyone keeps their heads down for now until we know what we're up against.

The rule book also says it isn't the Sheriff's responsibility to deal with those who do reveal their roles to the public.

And at this point. . . will we truly find a way to end this game before only one of us is left, if none of use take that sort of leap of faith?

But leap without looking first, and you'll end up breaking your neck on the ground. We can't lose more of our own like this.

But we can't go on as we are now. We need a new strategy. We need to do something different.

[she says firmly, standing her ground]

We've lost 29 people. At this rate, we'll keep going until only one of us is alive.

What other choice do we have at this point but to show our cards?
