The future's in doubt, you're on your own [Week 6, Friday]

[Silence fills the room. They've lost one of their own and their biggest chance to end the game. It's no surprise no one's in a good mood, but they all know they have to be here.

So...who will speak first?]

[Quietly:]

I know how it looks, but I didn't do it.

I know.

[she says firmly, without an ounce of doubt in her words]

. . . I see he was caught in the bear trap we set out.

[... Giving them a questioning look. "We"?]

[tilts her head towards him]

Remember when we discussed not going easy on the Bandits, and using every tool in our disposal to catch them?

Natalie came to me with the idea to put the bear trap out on the night of the killing to catch a culprit. We placed it in front of the hotel.

I imagine that's why there was. . . ah. So much blood there this morning.

[WELL. THAT'S ALARMING. And Jason will express as much, writing down&mdash]

He walked from the hotel to the clinic with a bear trap on his leg?

[personal profile] thatsthespirit 2017-02-25 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
Assuming he walked, and wasn't dragged there by a third party.

[like these two were last week]

[personal profile] impulsiveness 2017-02-25 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
If it's the latter, the third party did a shitty job. Leaving someone with a bear trap doesn't really save lives.

[... going off what Sara did for them, anyway.]

No. It doesn't.

[. . .]

The truth of the situation may have to wait until tomorrow, though.
impulsiveness: (029)

[personal profile] impulsiveness 2017-02-25 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
[Nothing to write down about that, so Jason will opt for sighing. Of course.

It always has to wait.]

[personal profile] thatsthespirit 2017-02-25 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
[she gets you, Jason]

[she hates that it has to wait, too]
robitussin: (that you'd go away for good)

[personal profile] robitussin 2017-02-25 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
...Yeah. It wouldn't be hard for anyone passing by to see it and use it.
thatsthespirit: (pic#10763683)

[personal profile] thatsthespirit 2017-02-25 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
If it wasn't hard to see. . . then why did he step into it? Or do you think his real killer used it to their advantage?
robitussin: (for just another day)

[personal profile] robitussin 2017-02-25 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe he got pushed into it if there was a struggle? Or... I don't know.
thatsthespirit: (pic#10763677)

[personal profile] thatsthespirit 2017-02-25 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps. . .

[. . .]

[she wants to ask what Natalie was doing there, but. . .]
