Now we’ve got a big, big mess on our hands tonight [W6, Thursday, Pre-Curfew]
[Another day, another meeting. This one's more tense than usual especially with the lack of a small bat-child. Percy's right hand is sloppily bandaged up and his jaw is tight as his eyes burn with anger.]
Dr. Lecter knows we know. He's known since Saturday. Hal confirmed with me he's the Deputy, just like Hal confirmed to Dr. Lecter that we were onto him.
[A shaky sigh.] What the fuck do we do now?

Anyway, he suggested the same thing to me, but way back then—that we could hang out together if I died. I guess I just find it a little weird that he waited weeks before suggesting that to you as well.

[and she frowns some more]
The Sheriff warned me against breaking the windows on the train. [but--] Is dying the only way to get inside?

[she traces the words of Higekiri's letter with her finger]
The train is a place where the dead can exist. It's a smaller contained state than this town. If we break the place they're anchored to right now, they drift. The windows are too foggy to see inside, and the doors are barred. The only way to enter using conventional means is to break in. But. . .
[they can't do that, so. . .]
. . .
Why is the train running?
