[While Will's telling him all of this, Percy's using one hand to pet Winston and the other to pull fruit pieces out with his fingers to eat them. Truthfully, he's starving and Will was right, the fruit was settling. So he listens and takes that in, giving him a curious look all the while and nodding along.
